The Chambre de Roger is named after the Marquise’s valet, Roger. This was his bedroom a century ago, and is located near the Marquise’s bedroom in the original 15th century wing of the chateau. It has a beautiful original hand blocked French wallpaper, and curtains of Sudbury silk. We have furnished it with an antique, single ‘lit a la Polonaise’, a magnificent silk-swathed four poster bed.
There is a kettle to make tea in the silver teapot or to fill the hot water bottle provided. And a crystal decanter of sherry to enjoy whilst getting dressed for dinner. A cupboard door leads to a small ‘secret’ shower room, set into the thickness of the ancient castle wall.
